Final Tutorial- Assignment 10

My Formative Feedback.

My response is in RED TEXT.

Overall comments

Congratulations on completing the unit Martine!

You have worked with tireless enthusiasm and commitment to develop your practice. This includes a consistent engagement and optimism that has made for enjoyable and fruitful exchanges.

Project 10 culminates with a draft portfolio selection and reflective statement in the form of a video presentation. This is a detailed view of selected works from each project in correspondence with learning outcomes for the unit. There is also a concise reflection of related themes and concepts as well as a good sense of outlining developing material approaches in synthesis with your research.

You have collated a long list of selected works (draft) with possibilities for revision (see action points).

Action points

Finalise the selected works component (video) as you proposed (this can also be a list of links to the work should you prefer)

Current selection of work – still some decisions and minor tweaks to be made about ‘versions’, framing and cropping and any other presentation elements (as well as potential for diptych / triptych formations – for example works 3 & 7 might be diptychs). Similarly, work number 1 could be comprised of a tondo set – this should be made clear if that is the case.

Yes, I will indeed make my final combinations and decisions based on my tutor's verbal and written feedback and assistance.

Consider the possibility of incorporating the maquette piece/exhibition model of tondos.

Also, something I will definitely include after my feedback. Making more of a body of work for an exhibition, I like the concept of several components to the tondo works.

Number 10. “Odyssey” should include and image of the full work a well as the detail – you can use similar strategies with other works to ensure a clear encounter of the work (eg. material and spatial qualities), but avoid conflating the use of a circular crop with the actual tondo works. The difference can sometimes be difficult to locate in documentation (if in doubt, be descriptive in the caption to the work).

Look at previous assessment feedback - are there any feedback points that might still be relevant and useful in preparation for your submission?

Hmmm.... food for thought I will indeed return to all feedback.

Double-check your learning log:

Ensure that the navigation and clarity of your log are good. The sequence of projects should be clear (including headers and titles) and all relevant material made accessible. It is worth double-checking any links you provide for the portfolio to ensure they correspond with the selection of material.

Re-familiarise yourself with the assessment guidance and check everything before take-off!
