In the vibrant city of Nottingham, at the Surface Gallery, I attended a cross-discipline O.C.A Student Group Show and at the Bonington Gallery, also in Nottingham, to celebrate the activity of the Nottingham Women's Centre. However, the main reason for my attendance was the connection with other students and the art walk.
The themed Mental Health degree show of Catherine Levey, Catherine D'Arcy-Saunders and Allan O'Neill, which I will review later in this course as it was of great interest to my development.
I attended the walk because it touched on being a 'flaneur or flaneuses' and was a feeling I had been accustomed to when I worked away in different cities across the globe. Tutor Diana Ali was the lead explorer and shared and discussed the city's attributes. We were given a provocation card and asked to respond as we walked around Nottingham.
I decided to respond to my card (below) by
I engaged in conversation with each one of the eleven attendees and found out about their O.C.A. journey.
I made a physical mark on paper for each person and then joined the marks (with a walked pencil line similar to the path I had taken that day).
I, therefore, had detached and engaged with each person that day and drew my interpretation of the experience.

Mixed media on watercolour paper 15 cm x 20 cm.
